Very unusual and very showy, robust, medium blue aquamarine crystal with white microcline from the Shigar Valley, Pakistan. A unique aquamarine crystal that measures 6.9 x 1.9 x 1.2 cm exhibiting etched but glassy prism and pyramidal terminations that is gemmy for much of its length. The transparency is slightly obscured by the etching and it is more turbid in the central portion of the crystal. The aqua has a few narrow "waists" produced by deeper etching in select areas perpendicular to the long axis of the crystal. The top pyramidal termination is sharp and pronounced whereas the basal termination is indistinct due to etching. The light blue color of the aquamarine contrasts nicely with the white to off-white microcline. A second, smaller (1.1 cm), gem aquamarine crystal peeks out of the microcline and is lustrous, terminated and un-etched with good light blue color. A custom engraved acrylic base is included. Older material and a bit different from the norm.
