Adamite var. Cuprian
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Cabinet, 13.7 x 10.5 x 6.5 cm
SOLD
A substantial and showy large cabinet specimen covered in a multitude of glistening green-blue adamite crystals from the famed Ojuela Mine in Mexico. The translucent to transparent crystals are relatively uniform in size at about 1.5 mm and have dense coverage with local areas of red-orange gossan showing through for a nice contrast. Cuprian adamite from Mexico originated from a few limited finds in the 1980s and are difficult to obtain. This is a fantastic specimen from a unique modern find (circa 2014-15) that displays well in a variety of orientations. A custom engraved acrylic base is included.
