The Finch Mine (more commonly know as the Barking Spider Mine) is renowned for its ultra-cool Quartz after Wulfenite pseudos. What you rarely, if ever, see are these fantastic pseudos of Vanadinite after Wulfenite. While you would expect the crystals to be acicular similar to other Vanadinites from there, close examination shows the crystals to be hexagonal barrels. The luster of these micro Vanadinites is superb, the orange-red color is rich, and the habit of the crystals are sharp. The largest blade about 1.7 cm across, and the Wulfenites have been turned into veritable forests of shiny Vanadinites. They are absolutely beautiful close up. This exemplary pseudo was acquired from Bill Schneider in 1980, and was #8997 in Kay's collection. Totally unique!
