Sharply terminated, this is a classic Wolframite crystal from the historic tin mining district of Altenberg. The textbook chisel termination is exceptionally wide, and it is sharp. The prism faces are mostly contacted, but there are some smooth faces, as well as a few casts from intergrown crystals. Impressive and hefty, this Wolframite, with its fine metallic luster, was acquired by Kay in 1981 and is #9309 from her collection. Wolframite specimens are rare from this ancient district. Old-time, desirable material.
