A brecciated matrix hosts a thin coating of botryoidal, lustrous, rich pink rhodochrosite. The botryoids average 5 to 7 mm across. I particularly like the sculptural quality of the specimen when held upright - most Broken Hill rhodochrosites are simply ugly, but this one sparkles, and has interesting shape and color. These are both old, and rarely seen on the modern market. A previous Kristalle label has $3500 price. Ex. Dr. W.S. Logan Collection. Featured in his self-published book RHODOCHROSITE: Crystals of Drama and Nuance, page 142.
