Rhodochrosite
N'Chwaning Mine, Kuruman, North Cape Prov., South Africa
Miniature, 3.5 x 3.2 x 2.0 cm
Ex. William Logan
SOLD
A small, but choice miniature or toenail-sized specimen with rich cherry-red color, from the old finds of circa 1980. It features a true rosette of lustrous and translucent scalenohedrons of rhodochrosite, to 1.9 cm in length, aesthetically clustered together. Contrasting small specks of tiny manganite crystals are scattered about on the rhodo crystals, for an unusual accent. It is adorable and really colorful and sparkly on a shelf! Previous old Kristalle dealer label shows a $4000 price tag, perhaps a little high but then perhaps this is now a bargain as well.
