A superb and large matlockite crystal by any standard! This thumbnail consists of robust yellowish, lustrous, translucent, bladed crystals of matlockite, a very rare lead fluorochloride, to 1.5 cm in tight subparallel growth. An exceptional specimen with large crystals for the species. This piece is the only departure from the Tiger locality minerals in this update, but it came to me at the same time and is a companion species to Tiger minerals. An historic Hugh A. Ford labels comes with this great piece. These came out in the early 1800s and have not been found since. Owning one is a privilege and a treasure. I have seen but a few for sale over many many years.
