Diopside in Wollastonite
Jensen Quarry, Jurupa, Jurupa Mts, Riverside Co., California, USA
Small Cabinet, 8.4 x 6.2 x 4.5 cm
Ex. Kay Robertson

This is one of the more unusual specimens that I have seen from Riverside County. These 5 mm Diopside crystals have a rich, mint green color that almost look like they can and should be eaten for a sugary dessert, and the luster and translucence are very good. The dozens of Diopsides abundantly fill a large pocket within the Wollastonite. An aesthetic specimen, this was acquired by Kay back in 1966 from the Sol Shalevetz private collection. Unusual!
