SUPERB, old-time plate of forest green Pyromorphite from the famous Black Forest of Germany. The coating on the matrix is extremely rich, with the Pyromorphites developing into growths that look like heads of broccoli. Or, if you were landing at an airport, this looks just like a forest from above on approach. These 'trees' grow to about 1 cm across, and their luster is good (and actually slightly more prominent in the photos). Resembling many of the great German Pyros from Eifel, this is absolutely one of the greatest Black Forest Pyromorphites I have seen. It is exceptional and aesthetic. ex. John Albanese in the 1960s and a core specimen in Kay's extensive Black Forest collection drawers since then.
