Lovely and old 79 Mine Smithsonite of the BEST intense and rich green color from the famous finds there (two major pockets and some minor ones, in the 1990's as I recall). This botryoidal layer has terrific luster and the crystals are quite translucent, glowing a nice apple green when backlit. Only a few of this quality - such a good luster and color - have come out, so these are still quite prized. Later efforts at mining have not reproduced the success of the original finds. This is a small miniature "toenail" size, and gorgeous in a case.
