The short-lived (1993-97) Flambeau Mine hit the mineral scene in a big way with its spectacular Chalcocite specimens, but it should not be forgotten for its large suite of other minerals, among them Azurite and Malachite. The Azurites here are beautiful microcrystals with excellent luster, deep blue color, and good gemminess. The Malachites are velvety and botryoidal, also in the mm-or-less size range. On reflection, this is probably the best and richest Azurite specimen I have seen from Flambeau. The combination with the Malachite makes it that much better. rare for locality!
