Columbite-Tantalite is a combination term that is used generically for the specimens in the Columbite/Tantalite families. Under normal circumstances, they are very difficult to tell apart. This sharp, curved single crystal is actually quite a good example of this family, with good, blackish color and excellent, pearly luster. As these specimens go, this small cab is a fine "Ferrocolumbite" from the locally well-known Devil's Hole Quarry in southern central Colorado. ex AL McGuinness specimen (probably in the 1970s)
