A classic, Butte District specimen that is much more fine and elegant than most of these generally massive specimens tend to be. The specimen has an abundance of superb, iridescent violet and magenta Covellite blades rising up from a nest of smaller, box-work blades. The Covellites reach up to 1.7 cm, and they have a shimmering, iridescent, metallic luster. Small rosettes of Quartz crystals adorn the matrix around the Covellites, and add to the aesthetics. Excellent, old-time material, Covellites of this quality are a signature Butte species. Super aesthetic, she bought this piece from her friend (and dealer) Scott Williams in 1960.
