This locality produced inarguably the world's best crystals of this rare species, and it gave them up to us in the early to mid-1800s when few collectors were around, and much of it went to museums which hold them to this day. God old specimens are hard to come by! This large matrix specimen has robust sheaves of bladed chalcophyllite xls to 1 cm, classic in color and form. The large contrasting matrix is actually quite nice, in terms of display. This piece is from the small Cornish suite of the collection of Dr. Francesco Bedogne, of Italy, who passed away some years ago but the collection was only recently released for sale at the St. Marie show. ex Citran collection, who purchased it from the noted dealer Krantz in 1962.
