A SUPERB and very rare pair of herringbone-patterned Silver clusters, on calcite matrix, from the famous St Andreasberg region in Germany. The glistening, bright luster and sharp habit of the Silvers are outstanding. On first look, and second look, and third look, you would almost certainly think that this was from the Batopilas Mine in Mexico, but it's not. It is so unusual, and such a choice piece, that Kay knew exactly what she was doing when she grabbed this on a trip to Italy in 1960 (Palumbo collection). Illustrated in the featured article on Kay Robertson's collection Mineralien Welt, June 2017.
