From the 1971 Gem Pocket! A fine specimen from one of Tsumeb's most famous finds. The Mimetites are a beautiful gemmy yellow, showing the long prismatic habit that is so attractive. The longest crystal is 1.5 cm long, with several others over 1 cm. The Mimetites are intact and glow like little jewels, the gemminess and luster is so good! This is an excellent matrix specimen from an important discovery, that is still considered the best of species pocket, some 45 years later. Better even, in person. Specimens larger than a thumbnail are so rarely seen for sale anymore, and generally hoarded by collectors for decades until whole collections sell. This is an important specimen for the size, style, and quality.
