Rarely seen in such size, this is a complete floater crystal of titanite. It is a gorgeous, translucent to gemmy, and exceptionally large Titanite crystal from the Khyber Province in Pakistan. This twinned crystal has very sharp edges showing a clean twin plane, striking grass to olive green color that glows with even a bit of backlighting, and superb glassy luster. The sharply defined fishtail twinning plane splits the crystal perfectly, and the back side is coated with Chlorite (preferential coating effects are always fascinating). Rare because of its unusual size, sharpness, and lack of damage, this was a longtime feature in the Obodda collection, which he brought out of Pakistan himself many years ago. It was part of the display in his famous exhibits at Munich, University of Arizona, and the Springfield Show exhibit of his collection (and has special display label from those events).
