Paprok, Kunar Province, Afghanistan
Miniature, 4.2 x 3.5 x 2.0 cm
Ex. Herb Obodda
SOLD

Perched exquisitely on thickly intergrown, tabular, pink lepidolite, is a glassy and translucent, octahedral, rich golden-yellow fluornatromicrolite crystal, measuring 1.4 cm in length. This species was officially named and approved by the IMA in 2011. It is the very rare sodium member of the microlite group. Ex. Herb Obodda collection, and from his long-seen educational displays shown in Munich, Tucson, and Springfield shows. This is an exceptional miniature of competition quality for what it is, and with fine color whereas most were dull. Obodda brought out nearly all of these specimens at the time, in the mid-2000s.
