Tourmaline var. Chrome Dravite
Commander Mine, Adonjukin, Tanzania
Miniature, 5.2 x 1.6 x 1.3 cm

Gem dravite crystals, showing a rich green color with yellow zoning, were one of the few new finds at the Munich show in 2016. From a new find of October 2016, right before the Munich show, came a single pocket of these intensely lustrous crystals. Most of the crystals were with one dealership, whose owner happened to be there at the time of the production and bought nearly all the lot. This is the best miniature, we believe, from the large group presented at the show by New Era Gems' Steve Ulatowski, and in fact it was their logo piece for their show advertising poster and emails. It is perfect and complete, all around, and better in person because the fabulous luster is hard to convey. 94 carats (about 20 grams)
