Cavansite
Wagholi Quarry, near Pune, Maharashtra Province, India
Miniature, 4.5 x 4.0 x 2.0 cm

Aesthetically pleasing, this solid mass of cavansite is highlighted by a spherical aggregate, 1.5 cm in length, perched atop a stalactite. It looks like creation of Dr. Seuss, from one of his books! Highly lustrous, along with desirable crystal-edge translucence and a rich neon blue color, make this cavansite specimen desirable. It is also a competition-level miniature, amongst a crowd of lesser pieces that happen to be "this size," and stands out dramatically. Photos never capture the color of a cavansite right. I am not sure why they always make it look more green-blue than the pure and vivid blue it is, to the human eye in person. ex. Jaworski collection
