The world's finest specimens of hydroxlherderite (by general concord and agreement) were found in the Xanda Mine in one famous 1969 pocket of purple Hydroxylherderites (see Bancroft's famous book Gem & Crystal Treasures). Here, we have this very choice miniature-sized specimen which is a rare cluster! The crystals have a light lavender color and excellent luster, characteristic of this unique find. This miniature is a superb example from that find. It features a twinned, lustrous and translucent, lilac colored twin crystal 2.5 cm in length. A competition quality hydroxlherderite like this is exceptionally rare on today's market and almost never seen for sale. I buy them when they turn up.
