The great Chrome mine at Sarany (the Type Locality) has produced some of the most colorful and impressive "Alpine-type" Russian mineral specimens. This small cab features plenty of dodecahedral Uvarovite crystals with high luster, some etching, and intense emerald-green color. The largest of the Uvarovites reach about 5 mm across. These specimens have become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years. There is some assumption that the purplish-gray micro-coating below the Uvarovites may possibly be Kammererite.
