This is a true oldtimer, once in the collection of the great Art Montgomery, who along with Ed Over were America's top field collectors in the 1930's. This group of prismatic Pyrargyrite crystals, to 3.0 cm in length, has unusual, stepped growth at the terminations but they are nevertheless complete. The skin of the specimens shows off bright red flashes, and it has a natural patina, uncleaned in chemicals that could brighten it further. THIS IS A MAJOR HISTORICAL AND LOCALITY PIECE! You almost never see genuine, vetted Proustite and Pyrargyrite from this era for sale, and only rarely in museums. It is a piece I got in trade, that I think was priced reasonably and I am passing that on. If this were a contemporary Mexican piece it would be 10k anyhow?! Comes with the original Montgomery label.
