Sharp rhombohedrons, to 1 cm across, of lustrous and translucent, rich pink manganoan smithsonite, totally cover the display side of this specimen. Rarer than the cobaltoan variety but still superb, these specimens only came out ONCE in 1984-1985, and are distinct due to their color combined with sharp rhombic form. They have a special look to them that, in person, is readily identifiable and different from the luster and shape and color palette of the cobalt-colored smithsonites.
