Vesuvianite (Manganoan)
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada
Miniature, 4.1 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm
SOLD

Rare! Vividly colored a rich magenta by trace amounts of manganese, this specimen features glassy and gemmy, doubly terminated crystals of manganvesuvianite, to 9 mm in length. This is much more uncommon than the green color - although now that the quarry is closed (it mined asbestos), all good Canada vesuvianites are seldom seen for sale any more.
