This is a sculptural, freeform arrangement of acicular, bow-tie crystals of strontianite, to 3.5 cm in length. The doubly terminated crystals exhibit good luster and translucence along with a tan color that has a hint of very light pink. Mined in may 1995 and from the Ross Lillie collection. RCL#1196. His label denotes it as "SUPERB" and points out that this was the best pocket of strontianite found under his tenure there. It is referred to as "the pink pocket" and few are so aesthetic as this floater specimen.
