Some of the most beautifully formed calcite crystals occur at the Malmberget mine in Lappland, Sweden. This particular style came only from one pocket collected nearly 25 years ago, now! This lovely scalenohedron of lustrous and translucent, amber colored calcite is nearly pristine, save for minor contact at the base It is a European classic, and immediately recognizable to any serious calcite lover. They just are not on the market today, after so long out of the ground. Ex. Peter Lyckberg collection (he collected them at the time!), with label. From the Cynthia Payne calcite collection.
