Almost covering the black shale matrix are glistening hemispheres to 1.5 cm across, of lustrous and translucent, intense green wavellite. The body of the wavellite spheres is a lime green with an outer thin crust of forest green. A few broken spheres clearly delineate the radiating acicular growth that ultimately results in the botryoidal form atop. Overall, it is just a beautiful, large, and very richly colorful specimen of wavellite from a rare locale.
