Pyrargyrite is the so-called "ruby silver" gem species, alluring to many collectors because of its vivid red color when properly lit. The robust crystals from Peru are standouts compared to many Pyrargyrites from other localities. The main crystal here is 2.4 cm, and it has a very good presentation side, with smaller crystals along the edges and along the flat back. The adamantine luster is a knockout, and the glowing, cherry-red color when backlit is eye-catching. An excellent toenail (small miniature). Art Soregaroli edited the compendium book, Minerals of Peru, and had an extensive suite of fine Peruvian minerals.
