Cabinet, 10.1 x 5.9 x 3.7 cm
Ex. Ross Lillie
SOLD
A bizarre oddity from the Lillie collection: This is an unusual double-sided specimen which shows a replacement caught in action, where the galena is casting/replacing the fluorite. One side has splendent galena crystals, to 4 mm across festooned over fluorite crystals, to 2.5 cm in length, casting the cubic fluorites. The other side of the fluorite shows how the crystals are preferentially dissolving from their undersides to form the galena casts. Mined July 1992 from the south face of the Bahama ore body. RCL 0911. Unique!
