- Fluorite on Baryte After Calcite
- Cabinet, 10.5 x 7.9 x 6.2 cm
- Annabel Lee, Sub-Rosiclare Level, Harris Creek, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
- Ex. Ross Lillie
This amazing specimen is unique. It has incredibly gemmy, glassy, transparent crystals that are RAZOR SHARP, perched on a strange Baryte matrix. These are sharp, color zoned fluorite crystals to 3 cm across, which feature amber colored cores and light purple edges that are riveting in person - the human eye sees it better than a camera lens. On closer examination, the Baryte is casted after former calcites. From the Poe pod in 1993 and Lillie Collection, RCL #0458. Former dealer price was (no kidding) $20,000 when we purchased 1800 specimens from this collection and re-amortized pricing across the board. There is no question that it is a remarkable piece. It leaps out to the viewer, and is really "different" in aspect than all others here.
