Joseite/Ikunolite (Grunlingite) in Veinlets
Conchita Mine, Estapona, Malaga, Spain
Miniature, 4.0 x 2.0 x 2.0 cm
Ex. Rock Currier
SOLD
Despite the controversy over the status of joseite itself and it's "polymorphs," and the possibility that it may be Te-bearing ikunolite, this is a very good representative example of the material from an obscure locality. It's a nice small miniature containing irregular, metallic, silver-gray anhedral aggregates to 1cm contained in a black matrix. The specimen originates from Bi-Te-W-Au mineralization in a contact zone of a skarn at this Spanish locality. This material could contribute to further characterization of the species. It comes with a Burminco label and an unspecified typewritten label.
