Fluorite on Baryte
La Cabana area, Berbes, Asturias, Spain
Small Cabinet, 7.3 x 3.2 x 2.5 cm
SOLD
These sharp, absolutely transparent crystals, are perched on a vertical sheaf of Baryte blades for a stunning contrast. This piece is as close to artwork as a mineral specimen can get: I felt that the photos look more like a painting than straight photos! The photos are purposefully done with no retouching or background substitution, to highlight the natural perfection of this piece. The dominant crystal atop is 1.75 cm across and perfect. The subtleties of the luster, phantoms, and shapes are even better in person. Joe Budd photos. This is old classic material for the locale and rarely seen on the market today.
