Cerussite Included By Malachite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Namibia
Miniature, 4.1 x 2.4 x 1.2 cm
SOLD

A real rarity, this reticulated cerussite snowflake is subtly included by malachite, giving the whole specimen a multihued green color, from light green to emerald green. This is a style unique not only to Tsumeb, but to one single pocket at this mine (from the 1980s, if I recall). They seldom turn up for sale. This aesthetic piece is complete all around and on both sides. It is one of only a handful I have ever seen for sale and is frankly a gorgeous thumbnail in its own right, rarity aside. The specimens from this pocket have been analyzed to prove the inclusions are malachite, although some labels indicate them as duftite that I have seen.
