This is an unusual Ojuela Mine specimen composed of variegated, botryoidal, lustrous and slightly translucent apatite. The color ranges from apple green to a grayish or brownish tan. The apatite fluoresces a greenish white color. very unusual, old material from this mine. This apatite is from the Astillero Mine, which is in Mapimi Municipality but 35 km west of Ojuela in a different mountain range altogether. The material was often sold in Mapimi town and it is common to see it mislabeled as Ojuela.
