Fluorite With Schorl and Quartz
Bulochi, Astor District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Cabinet, 9.5 x 8.5 x 6.0 cm
SOLD
This piece is from a small find of around 2006-2007, and it has not been equaled since. The color saturation is the most intense green hue I have EVER seen from Pakistan, and frankly it may be the most intense green I have seen, period. The specimen is a sculptural piece that consists of robust, gemmy, translucent crystals to 6 cm across, perched dramatically on a narrow shard of quartz matrix.Their habit is an elongated cuboctohedron - itself, rare for Pakistani fluorites. A small Schorl provides a little accent in front. This piece has been set back for years (because I lost track of it - not on purpose!), and is therefore the only one I have for sale from this pocket, of which I had the majority nearly 10 years ago.
