This particular style of apophyllite combination is very distinct to me, even amongst the large crowd of apophyllites mined in India still to this day. The subtle contrasts and the delicate stilbites balanced on such lustrous mint-green crystal sprays always have appealed to me since I saw my first examples of the pocket. It is just different from all the other styles I have seen since. This pocket was found in the mid-1980s, and I recall seeing my first specimen of it at the Cincinnati show of around 1987 or 1988. It was a piece similar to this one, and was $500 (a lot of money at the time!). I saved up the whole show to buy it and owned it for many years after. Joe Budd photos.
