A sliver of matrix hosts these dramatic, pristine, intergrown crystals of translucent, rich magenta-colored erythrite, to 2 cm in length. They have a great metallic luster to them. Since erythrite is such a soft mineral, very minor bruising can be expected and yet this is a competition quality miniature that has been brought out without the usual damage which most specimens from these recent finds (sporadic pockets over 2010-13) had. It was a small pocket, brought to my attention in Munich. The brilliant luster and rich color are just outstanding. The quality and dramatic structure of this piece really make it stand out.
