Smithsonite With Cerussite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Miniature, 3.8 x 3.4 x 2.3 cm
SOLD

Although this smithsonite greatly resembles those from Berg Aukas in color and form, surprise! The presence of the cerussite crystals at its base clearly places the specimen from Tsumeb. Stacked crystal clusters of smithsonite, to 2.4 cm across, are associated with doubly-terminated, glassy and translucent, smoke-colored cerussite crystals to 1.4 cm in length. There is some contact to the right sides of the cerussites at base, but this is away from the display angle. Overall a cute and unusual smithsonite from Tsumeb.
