ORDWAY-06
Inyoite
Inder Lake, Kazakhstan
Small Cabinet, 7.9 x 7.4 x 5.2 cm
Ex. Al Ordway
SOLD
An extremely rare borate, Inderite is seldom seen in robust, primary crystals. It is a weird class of borate called a "triborate," chemically. Those from this remote dry lake in Kazakhstan are considered best of species and seem to turn up in old collections, time to time. This matrix piece features a cluster of monoclinic, translucent, white crystals of inyoite to 3 cm in length.
