Here is a total GEM thumbnail rhodo from Mexico - the single finest crystal I have personally seen on a gram per gram quality basis. The color, luster, and transparency make it leap out of a case. At first, you are confused where this is from - it has the luster of the top NChwaning Mine pieces, but the cherry color of the best Peruvians, and a complete limpid gemminess that neither locality ever produced. This piece is complete all around (it has a little tiny bit of attached matrix). It is from the secret personal collection of longtime Mexican dealers Dalton and Consie Prince (now deceased), which Dave Stoudt got the chance to highgrade in the early 2000's. This crystal and the previous specimen are for sale as a set only, and shared a common display base in both the Prince and Stoudt collections.. Joe Budd photos.
