Mt St Hilaire, Quebec, Canada

An important rare collector's gem! Serandite is almost never seen as a faceted stone, and when it is cut the result is typically a stone that is translucent at best. This rectangle-cut beauty is impressive for the rich orange color (some call it "salmon flesh"), excellent size for the species and most importantly... It is transparent! Superb for a collection of top grade rarities. The rough for this stone, based on color and luster, is from a very small number of pockets found in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is unique to this locale. Classic material, and an irreplaceable stone in the market today. Cut by Jay Medici.
