High Down Quarry, Filleigh, Barnstable, Devonshire, England (TYPE LOCALITY)
Small Cabinet, 6.0 x 5.2 x 3.8 cm
Wavellite is a beautiful species tending to form radial aggregates, as you see here - but most people probably think it was found in Arkansas, where it is most common today. This specimen is from the TYPE LOCALITY in England, which dates back to 1805. It features pastel green ball-shaped clusters of radial wavellite crystals, to just over 1 cm in size. It is a rich, attractive, display quality specimen
