Turquoise (Rare Crystals)
Bishop mine, Lynch Station, Campbell County, Virginia
Small Cabinet, 6.2 x 4.3 x 3.9 cm

Turquoise seldom crystallizes in nature, and the best specimen s for luster and color come from this old claim in rural Virginia. Today, such pieces are almost impossible to obtain on the market. I have had several dozen over the last 20 years, from old collections and of varying qualities. This would rank as one of the best, perhaps the best I have personally handled for the overall size and impact of the display face; and for the intensity of color. It is a very important, but seldom seen, American classic, Ex. Ted Johnson collection.
