Miniature, 5.0 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm
Broken Hill Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia (TYPE LOCALITY)
Ex. Al Ordway
An extraordinarily rich specimen of the extremely rare tungstate raspite, with brilliently lustrous, gemmy, bright crystals to 3 mm perched on a solid matrix. MOST crystals are undamaged, though some broken ones are admixed. The larger orange platy crystals are stolzite. This vug is largely protected by the 3-dimensional curve of the piece. It is a lot of concentrated raspite in one place. Some crystals, I think, are twinned.
