ALBVT-04
Albite
Enosburg Falls Stone Quarry, Enosburgh, Franklin County, Vermont
Toenail, 3.1 x 2.6 x 2.2 cm
SOLD
This cute, sparkly miniature is highlighted by two paralell-growth, glassy and gemmy, colorless, albite crystals to 1.5 cm in length growing between tabular crystals of silver-black hematite, to 1.3 cm across. The lower half of one of the hematite crystals has been contacted (it looks broken, I admit, but I think it is contact where it grew against a new-missing crystal), and the right edge of the upper hematite crystal is damaged, but the overall beauty of the specimen is still something. A very RARE example from the locallity of hematite association (only these illustrated pieces were found, to my knowledge)
