Wavellite
Siglo Veinte Mine (Siglo XX Mine; Llallagua Mine; Catavi), Llallagua, Rafael Bustillo Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia
Small Cabinet, 5.7 x 4.8 x 4.4 cm
SOLD
Some of the largest and most displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo Veinte mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This piece features a large, fine, lustrous, smoky-grey color, sphere-shaped radiating aggregate measuring 3.1 cm across. There are also some smaller spheres of Wavellite with a few Quartz crystals and a thin metallic grey acicular mineral on the back (possibly Bismuthinite?) .
