Shimmering spectral colors, predominantly purple and green, light up the surface of this hematite specimen with a botryoidal surface (commonly known as turgite in this colorful form). Just behind this beautiful surface the specimen looks like what it really is - basically oxidized iron or rust - which makes it all the more impressive that it can be so pretty.
