This is a gorgeous tourmie with vivid hues, quite fat and colorful. It has almost a purplish color to the tip and the main body is also unusually purpley-red in color, but is probably more accurately described as having a very unique maroon hue: much richer in color than anything I have seen from the locality before in this regard. It is hard to describe - but trust me, in person this is gemmy, intense, and breathtaking for color. THere is no damage to the display face, though a small ding is on the very far right corner and that ding (or perhaps a natural break that is partly rehealed) extends around that corner of the termination to the backside. A band of purpley-blue runs across the termination just a few mm below the top.the tourmaline itself measures 5 cm across, and 2.25 cm or so deep. It extends through the attached albite matrix and thus is 7 cm long, but only the top 3 to 3.5 cm of the tourmaline show and are relevant for display purposes. I have been debating trimming off the bit at the bottom to make it sit more evenly - easily enough done if somebody desires - though I left it on for the overall size in the end. 6.9 x 5.9 x 4.2 cm
