This monstrous crystal probably weighs over a kilo on its own, and is one of the top 5 specimens found in the amazing one-time glory hole at this remote mine, about 5 years ago now. The whole find has been documented several times in print and remains to this day the single most important topaz find in North America since the heyday of San Diego County's Little 3 Mine several decades ago. I expect no more to be found here, as well. Plus, these are BIG topaz crystals even by worldwide standards. The color is a pleasing shade of pastel blue, and this specimen has excellent color because color saturation in these seems to correlate with size and thickness. For my own taste in specimens, this was actually one of two pieces I preferred when the whole pocket was put on display in Tucson (again, I think it was around 1999 but will have to check on that). It sold when the pieces were put up for sale at the end of that show and I have tracked it since, only recently obtaining the chance to handle it. The crystal sits firmply on matrix and IS COMPLETE on the front and sides, though contacted in back. Hard to shoot and BETTER In PERSON! 18.5 x 17 x 5.5 cm
